What an Unbelievable Birthday Party!

Okay, I'm at the age where you really don't look forward to birthday parties. But that all changed last night when my girlfriend, Kim, gave me a special treat! The evening started by her giving me specific instructions to:

1- Arrive at her house at a designated time

2- Enter only through the front door and

3- Bring my digital camera

What could she be setting me up for? Scroll down and find out.....

Kim is so excited about the birthday treat she has in store for me!

She made me close my eyes and then escorted me into the kitchen. When I openned my eyes heres what I saw....

IT'S A LOBSTER DINNER FOR TWO FROM LEGAL SEAFOOD!!! Remember- "If it isn't fresh, it isn't Legal"

Let's open up the box!

The view inside. Look hard and you'll see one of our 1.5 lb. lobsters hiding in the bed of seaweed.

The box contained two 1.5 lb lobsters, a very large container of world famous clam chowder, soup crackers, instruction booklet, and a whole lemon. Man is this going to be good!

Seaweed salad? Nope- it's put in the box to help the lobsters retain moisture during shipment.

The folks at Legal Seafood even include a comprehensive instruction booklet so you can't mess your dinner up!

Man, do these guys look good or what?

You gotta have corn on the cob with lobster right?

Lobster juggling anyone?

Tucker sniffs his new friend.

The pre-flight check-off

Now here's where it gets dangerous. Removing the rubberbands from the claws. Careful.....

Let the feast begin!

While the lobsters cook, we enjoy some of the best clam chowder on the planet! Heaven in a bowl!

Kim thought of everything. She even went out and bought little lobster toys so we could study crustacean anatomy. That's my girl!

... and of course practice our shell cracking skills before the real thing is plated up. Okay, I think we got it!

Kim reads the instruction manual the Legal Seafood folks provided. It was very interesting..... Hey the lobsters almost done! YEAH!!

Doesn't it look good? The Food Network couldn't have done a better job plating up those bad boys!

Hopeful anticipation!

The rest of the meal was a blur. Everything turned out so nice. From the clam chowder, to the lobster, to the corn on the cob, to the corn muffins, white wine, and melted butter. My taste buds have not felt this good in a long time. I will never forget this meal!

That's one satisfied man!

After dinner, we relaxed for a while then Kim made a great italian ice cream dessert treat. Of course there were presents and other festivities later on that night. I'm still in total shock over this remarkable evening!

Thanks for a great birthday Kim! You're one amazing girl!
